11. PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
11.1 The products detailed within the brochure are available in both AISI304 or AISI316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel. SWR recommend the use of AISI304 for all internal projects and the AISI316 Marine Grade for external use due to its superior resistance to certain elements.
11.2 SWR’s range of components combine professionally to produce a 42.4mm X 2.0mm tube system. Whilst the majority of components are also available to produce a 48.3mm X 2.6mm system for a superior load. These systems achieve different strengths for the varying applications that our systems require.
11.3 Our system is designed to be installer-friendly, with the majority of the components and tube gluing together and achieving excellent strength characteristics. However, base-plates and handrails will need to be fixed securely to floors and walls to ensure maximum strength. SWR will advise and supply the relevant fixings to enable the installer to fix to certain materials however it remains the installer’s responsibility to ensure that the area in which the system is to be fixed is structurally supportive and has been approved by a structural engineer.
11.4 The SWR balustrade and handrail sales team will be happy to assist you and confirm your requirements. We provide a cutting service for uprights and handrails as well as a drilling service to incorporate the components required for your choice of infill. It is the customers responsibility to specify all of the cutting and drilling details. We are unable to drill holes in the handrail and this will need to be completed by the installer. The final specification is the responsibility of the customer, therefore SWR can accept no responsibility for the incorrect products being purchased.
11.5 Given the multitude of legislations, we cannot accept liability for the compliance of our products to local building regulations. We therefore would like to draw your attention to the fact that it is always the customer’s responsibility for observing the existing legal regulations and advise should be sort from your local planning office.
11.6 Please be aware that none of the stainless steel products that we offer are maintenance free and SWR Ltd cannot guarantee the durability of the finish. Cleaning is required to maintain the quality of the product, how often will depend on the environment in which the product is installed.
